Sweden’s Go Getters have excelled themselves with this shiny little platter. Think of it if you will for a moment in movie terms. You’d find it under the thriller section of your local video store and it’d be the best one there. It’s exciting edge of the seat stuff. Think of the songs as scenes in this thriller and you’ll find more twists and turns and unexpected aural occurrences than you’d thought possible!

Packaged exquisitely and produced impeccably yet at the same time keeping a raw appeal it’s an immediate classic of an album. Purists will probably piss in their vintage pants with this latest outing from the Go Getters and that has to be a good thing eh? It’s a diverse album with everything from rockin’ blues to rockabilly, and even some garagey and borderline psychobilly sounds. Mmmm, just the way I like it.

Now you’re probably thinking on reading the track listing “for fuck sake, not Tainted Love and Brand New Cadillac being covered AGAIN!”. Well, file that notion under S for Shite because these versions are like nothing you’ve ever heard before. The arrangements are totally unique and Peter Sandberg’s vocals give em the whole replay appeal…as is the case with the majority of the tracks on here. Their version of “I Fawt The Law” (their spelling!) is given a rockin’ little Mexican twist and right good it is too. The Undertones “Teenage Kicks” is given the Go Getters unique treatment too and has that certain crossover appeal which should see them gaining popularity within psychobilly circles. The Peter Sandberg original “It’s Raining” is about as beautiful as a love song can get with melancholic guitar and wondrous female backing vocals from Laura Rickenbacker. The cover versions and originals featured on his album fuse beautifully together because they make the covers their own and well, their own songs ARE their own anyway! So there!!

Now then, in my last paragraph I always like to come out with something clever and absolutely hilarious and that’s why I’m not going to say…go get the Go Getters album because that would be shite! Instead I’m going to say…emm, did you hear about the cross-eyed teacher? He couldn’t control his pupils!!!! HAHAHAHA!
But that has fuck all to do with this album so perhaps I’ll say go get the Go Getters album after all because I can’t think of anything remotely humorous to say as I’m dying from a hangover and need to lie down! Sigh!!
